MuZEH Lab is a museum, a lab, a meeting place and an association. MuZEH Lab is a place where to cultivate heritage, innovation and sense of community.

Vision

A place where museum discipline and cultural heritage come together to illuminate the paths of tomorrow with the lessons of yesterday for a society conscious of the common good, where engaged and interactive young people contribute to the growth and shaping of civic culture and society future.

Mission

MuZEH Lab Center has activities in the best interest of the public, the development and activation of young people and the community with culture and the use of the discipline of museology and cultural heritage as forms of mediation, advocacy, encouragement and interaction as links in the development and education of society.

Its strategy focuses on the use of museum discipline and cultural heritage, with the conviction that through them grows and develops, educates, activates, transforms and grows civic culture and further society.

The center aims to advocate museum institutions and museum professionals and involve them in their discussions and experiences with the museum itself, visitors, the public in educational activities and activities, seminars, discussions and other performances.

Legal body

MuZEH lab is a cultural-social association officially registered on 02.11.2020 as a non-governmental organisation in Albania.

Team

The staff of MuZEH lab has a long professional experience, as well as a diverse network of local and foreign professionals with whom it collaborates and interacts. 

Dr. Dorina Xheraj-Subashi, is the co founder of MuZEH Lab is also a lecturer in Museum Studies, and Cultural Heritage at the Department of Tourism of "Aleksandër Moisiu", University of Durrës, Albania. She has a bachelor's degree at the University of Bologna; Master of Science in Archeology from the University of Tirana and PhD in Museology from the Center for Albanological Studies. She is actively involved with many scientific groups and working abroad in various European organizations such as Culture Solution, Interpret Europe and the International Council of Museums, where she holds several positions on the board of executive members, representatives as country coordinator and is active in research groups within these organizations with a network in the fields of heritage and museums. Dorina has also been actively involved as an external expert in European projects and as an evaluator in research project proposals and has been awarded several scholarships and awards as a researcher. Her long contribution to international conferences, trainings, workshops and publications.

Inesa Sulaj is the Co-Founder of MuZEH Lab, a community center dedicated to strengthening museums, heritage, and creativity in society. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management from the University of Tirana, a Master’s in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester (UK), and a Master’s in Urban and Landscape Design from Polis University, Tirana. Over the past decade, Inesa has built a strong career in the field of cultural heritage in Albania and internationally. She has worked at the National Gallery of Arts and the Ministry of Culture of Albania, and collaborated with national and international organizations. For more than nine years, she has also contributed to international networks, including the European Association for Heritage Interpretation (Interpret Europe) and the Balkan Museum Network, supporting EU-funded initiatives, training programs, and cross-border cooperation in heritage interpretation and museum development. Her expertise covers museology, cultural heritage management, and creative programming.

Inesa Sulaj

Co-founder; Communication Director

Inesa Sulaj is the Co-Founder of MuZEH Lab, a community center dedicated to strengthening museums, heritage, and creativity in society. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management from the University of Tirana, a Master’s in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester (UK), and a Master’s in Urban and Landscape Design from Polis University, Tirana. Anxhela Seneja is the office and project coordinator at MuZEH Lab. She completed her undergraduate studies in Law at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës and graduated with a Master's degree in the field of "Private Law." She has participated in various trainings and activities and has held various professional roles within different legal institutions and entities. During this period, she has performed functions including legal assistance, document preparation, and handling issues related to civil law, property, and contracts. These experiences have helped her develop skills in verbal communication, responsibility, collaboration, and punctuality, contributing to her professional growth and career development. At MuZEH Lab, she is currently working on coordinating the “Heritage Hub” project, ensuring that its implementation meets all the set requirements and objectives. Additionally, Anxhela is responsible for organizing daily activities, managing collaborations, and supporting the internal development of the organization to achieve its goals. She also assists in expanding opportunities and advancing other projects within the organization, which contribute to the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage.

She completed her undergraduate studies in Law at the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës and graduated with a Master's degree in the field of "Private Law." She has participated in various trainings and activities and has held various professional roles within different legal institutions and entities. During this period, she has performed functions including legal assistance, document preparation, and handling issues related to civil law, property, and contracts. Artea Plaku

Research Assistant

Artea Plaku graduated from the “Aleksandër Moisiu” University in Durrës, with a degree in Cultural Tourism Management. She has participated in various training programs and activities that have contributed to the development of her professional skills, especially in the fields of culture and the management of cultural activities. During her training and internship period, she gained valuable knowledge and skills in organizing and managing cultural and museum-related activities. At MuZEH Lab, Artea is involved in the “Heritage Hub” project, holding the position of photographer. She is responsible for the visual documentation of the activities and events organized by the organization.
