“The Narratives of Gaze” is an intimate photo series revealing extraordinary lives, curated by filmmaker and photographer Renato Balla. Through unguarded moments, Renato embraces simplicity, vulnerability, and profound connections to the lives and experiences of blind people. Set against the backdrops of their natural environments, these tales of courage and resilience provide new narratives of diversity, inclusion and tenderness.
Renato Balla (based in Tirana, ALB) works across both mediums as a film director and photographer. Through his creative pursuits, he delves into themes of cultural identity, memory, diversity, and self-expression.
Renato was recognized as the second-place winner in the photography category at the 4th edition of the “Biennale di Arte Contemporanea di Salerno.”His work garnered attention, earning him a spot as one of the best weekly entries at the Sony Photo Festival in 2018.
Renato has been selected to showcase his films at prestigious festivals and platforms, including FIickFair, Lift-Off Global Network 2020, ThinkShorts, and Concordia Film Festival. Overall, Renato Balla’s artistic contributions demonstrate a remarkable ability to capture and explore the essence of cultural themes, leaving a lasting impact on audiences worldwide.

Nëpërmjet momenteve të çiltra, Renato përqafon thjeshtësinë, brishtësinë dhe marrëdhëniet e thella me jetët dhe përvojat e njerëzve të verbër. Të vendosura në sfondin e mjediseve të tyre natyrore, këto rrëfenja të guximit dhe qëndrueshmërisë i japin zë narrativave të reja të diversitetit, gjithëpërfshirjes dhe dhembshurisë.
Renato Balla (me qendër në Tiranë, ALB) është një regjisor dhe fotograf që punon në të dy mediumet. Vepra e tij artistike thellohet në temat e identitetit kulturor, kujtesës, diversitetit dhe vetë-shprehjes.
Renato pati njohje të konsiderueshme si fituesi i vendit të dytë në kategorinë e fotografisë në edicionin e 4-të të “Biennale di Arte Contemporanea di Salerno”. Puna e tij u pikas, duke i dhënë atij një vend si një nga kandidimet më të mira javore në festivalin e fotografive Sony në 2018.
Filmat e Renatos janë përzgjedhur për t’u shfaqur në festivale dhe platforma prestigjioze, duke përfshirë FIickFair, Lift-Off Global Network 2020, ThinkShorts dhe Festivalin e Filmit Concordia.
