Who we are

MuZEH Lab is a museum, a lab, a meeting place and an association. MuZEH Lab is a place where to cultivate heritage, innovation and sense of community.

Vision

A place where museum discipline and cultural heritage come together to illuminate the paths of tomorrow with the lessons of yesterday for a society conscious of the common good, where engaged and interactive young people contribute to the growth and shaping of civic culture and society future.

Mission

MuZEH Lab Center has activities in the best interest of the public, the development and activation of young people and the community with culture and the use of the discipline of museology and cultural heritage as forms of mediation, advocacy, encouragement and interaction as links in the development and education of society.

Its strategy focuses on the use of museum discipline and cultural heritage, with the conviction that through them grows and develops, educates, activates, transforms and grows civic culture and further society.

The center aims to advocate museum institutions and museum professionals and involve them in their discussions and experiences with the museum itself, visitors, the public in educational activities and activities, seminars, discussions and other performances.

At MuZEH Lab, we value the intersection between historical heritage and contemporary avant-garde, emphasize the importance of community and participation, and we are committed to inclusive cultural growth.

We are grounded on the cultivation of memory, the respect for the uniqueness of different experiences and narratives, fostering critical thinking and the commitment to innovation and sustainability.

Team

The staff of MuZEH lab has a long professional experience, as well as a diverse network of local and foreign professionals with whom it collaborates and interacts. 

Dr. Dorina Xheraj-Subashi is the founder of MuZEH Lab-Center for the development of Museums, Heritage and Culture. She is also a lecturer in Museum Studies, and Cultural Heritage at the Department of Tourism of "Aleksandër Moisiu", University of Durrës, Albania. Dorina has a bachelor's degree at the University of Bologna; Master of Science in Archeology from the University of Tirana and PhD in Museology from the Center for Albanological Studies. She is actively involved with many scientific groups and working abroad in various European organizations such as Culture Solution, Interpret Europe and the International Council of Museums, where she holds several positions on the board of executive members and representatives as country coordinator. She has an active role in specific research groups within these organizations with an international and collaborative network in the fields of heritage and museums. Dorina has also been actively involved as an external expert in European projects and as an evaluator in research project proposals. Dorina has won several scholarships and awards during her professional work as a researcher and has a long contribution to international conferences, trainings, workshops and publications.

Inesa Sulaj

Inesa Sulaj is Co-Founder of MuZEH Lab - Center for the development of Museums, Heritage and Culture. Inesa offers expertise in museology, cultural heritage and creative programs. Ms. Sulaj graduated in museum studies from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom. Inesa has worked at the National Art Gallery and the Ministry of Culture in Albania, with various non-profit organizations such as Creative Business Solutions in the position of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Expert for the IntoAlbania project, a development program that supports economic growth in cultural tourism through technology. Inesa has also been involved as a consultant in various projects at the organization Cultural Heritage Without Borders (CHwB) Albania. Inesa has participated in various international trainings and conferences focusing on museum management, conservation, disaster risk management and heritage interpretation. Ms. Sulaj graduated in "Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Management" at the Faculty of History and Philology at the University of Tirana and has a master's degree in "Urban and Landscape Design" at Polis University, Tirana.
