Movable heritage - Hear, Touch and Perceive
Date of implementation: December 2023- June 2024
The idea of this project was based on creating architectural replicas of cultural heritage which are used as educational and exhibition tools for people with visual impairment. The tool produced can be used in heritage courses that can extend the awareness and perception of architectural features and symbols hidden in architectural buildings. The project has also produced the braille text for each selected monument.
The main objective of the project was related to creating and producing a new museum education tool and showcase, based on architectural heritage for people with visual impairment.
The project aimed to connect and co-create among experts of museum inclusion practices and to inform youth and blind people with sensorial replicas, and to educate them with empathy.
The project involved learning about cultural tradition of human creations of cultural heritage from countries as Albania and Northern Macedonia, and to delve in learning cultural heritage with heritage replicas that involve senses, audio narration and heritage interpretation.
The project aimed to provide knowledge and expand museum practices related to inclusion in society.
The project was specifically addressing the inclusion through museum practices based on people with visual impairment and educating youth students with empathy, while exchanging ideas and learning about cultural heritage. As we wanted to bring cultural heritage outside the countries especially for those that cannot see it, our objective is to create a safe and stimulating environment for people with visual impairment. They also have the right to benefit and enjoy the participation in cultural life and heritage thus within this project we want to stimulate and bring heritage in their life. Moreover, we wanted to use those replicas as educational tool in heritage curricula to be used as.
